WHEAT RIDGE, CO (December 13th, 2017) – SLI Compliance™ is attending the Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Council Launch Meeting today in Arlington, Virginia.  The meeting, held by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), will include officials from DHS, the Election Assistance Commission (EAC), members of the Executive Committee of the Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council as well as both private and public industry representatives.

Earlier this year, the Secretary of Homeland Security designated election infrastructure as part of the nation’s critical infrastructure, formally adding it as a subsector within the Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council (CIPAC) framework, which supports the implementation of the National Infrastructure Protection Plan.  DHS, the EAC, and other state election officials have developed the Election Infrastructure Subsector Government Coordinating Council (EIS GCC) to protect election infrastructure by enabling coordination across various agencies and jurisdictions.

Representing SLI Compliance at the meeting are Director of Operations, Traci Mapps, and Security Specialist and IT Manager, Jesse Peterson, CISSP, C|EH. SLI Compliance is looking forward to working with government and private sector partners to enhance understanding of current threats and strengthen physical and cybersecurity tools to increase the security of all election industry sectors.
